zzz-giveBIG 2022 Update – May 3, 12pm

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. As of noon today, we have raised $7,088. These funds will help ensure that we will be there for those who need us most, and continue to be able to welcome and support our foster families.

Thanks to our dedicated foster volunteers, we are fortunate that we can accept cats and kittens not yet ready for adoption and offer them a safe place to grow or heal.

Whether it’s litters of kittens, late-stage pregnant cats, weaned kittens, orphaned bottle babies, or a sick or injured cat needing time to heal, our foster families open their homes and their hearts to provide necessary care and love.

Meet Sugar Pie Honey Bunch and her sweet babies: Spumoni, Moon Pie, Brulé, Truffle, and Ambrosia

Sugar Pie Honey Bunch came to MEOW from a home with way too many cats. A friend reached out to get no cost spay/neuter vouchers from us. Once we started working with them we were able to convince them that allowing us to find homes for several of their cats was in everyone’s best interest.

Sugar Pie went into an experienced foster home where she gave birth to 5 healthy kittens a short time later. They are  safe and being spoiled while they continue to grow and prepare for eventual adoption.

How very rewarding it is to be a foster and give a chance to the most vulnerable. Perhaps the perspective of one of our fosters sums up the “why” better than we ever could. If you are interested in learning more about what it takes to be a MEOW foster family, check out our webpage, or plan to attend our next Foster Information Session on May 15th.

“I have been providing foster care for MEOW for about 7 years and I have always been so impressed with the care and attention they give each kitty in their care. They go way beyond other organizations regarding the medical care provided and their staff sometimes have much more expertise with kittens than vets I have worked with!

They have always made me feel as a valued member of the team and they take foster care families’ opinions into account with each adoption placement. I specifically switched to providing foster care with MEOW because I strongly agree with their policy of always adopting kittens in pairs instead of as single kittens. It is best for kittens and that is what they care about! I also love that they will always take back a cat that was adopted from them, even years later.

I adopted a lovely pair of sister cats from MEOW who had been adopted as kittens from them and at 6yrs old were left at a shelter in California. MEOW paid to fly them back because they are MEOW kitties!”
