There are so many additional ways that you can help us provide a soft place to land for the animals – from donations of shelter supplies to gifts of stock. However you chose to give, know that your gift makes a difference and truly does help! Thank you.

Shelter Wish Lists

Daily care of the shelter residents requires a lot of supplies. Your donation of food or supplies helps keep our expenses down and provides the very best care.

Chewy Wish List

Purchasing items from our Amazon – Shelter Needs List or our Chewy.com Wish List are the best ways to provide the shelter with needed supplies.

AniMeals Food Drive for Families in Need

Since its beginning in 2013, MEOW has hosted an ongoing food drive for pets in need.
We have facilitated the donation of several thousand pounds of cat and dog food through Kirkland’s Hopelink.

Sometimes all that is needed to keep a pet in his or her home is a little food and a little help.
Please stop by the shelter with your donation of dry or canned pet food.

Newsletter Tribute

Each quarter we publish a newsletter in which we share stories about the lives we have saved, the happy endings, and just what we’ve been up to recently. There is a special section in each newsletter dedicated to honoring and remembering animals and people in our lives.

For a minimum $50 donation, you may include a tribute to someone special (two legged or four legged). For more information, email our Donations Team at donations@meowcatrescue.org.

Tree of Life ~ Leaves of Love

Now and forever
A tribute to the pets in our homes
And the ones in our hearts

Our Tree of Life,with its beautiful bronze Leaves of Love, continues to grow and shine. This permanent mural commemorates the special animals in our lives, past and present.

With a minimum contribution of $500, a bronze leaf, engraved with sentiments of your choosing, will be added to the tree. Your pet’s name and a dedication will honor your relationship and serve as a lasting tribute to your dear friend; the moments you’ve shared, silly times, sad times.

As the Tree of Life grows its Leaves of Love, our Mercy Fund will grow from your donations.

The Mercy Fund is designated for emergency veterinary care for injured, ill or abused animals. Thank you for honoring your animals in this way.

Each leaf can have up to four or as few as two lines; character spaces are limited to 18 per line.

Gifts of Stock

If you were thinking of locking in some of your capital gains this year, consider the more tax-efficient alternative of donating shares of appreciated mutual funds or stock to MEOW Cat Rescue instead.

You can deduct the current market value of the gift for income tax purposes, just as if you had made cash payment. As an added advantage, you will avoid any capital gains taxes you would have owed if you had sold the assets instead.

Vehicle Donation

Because of our very special relationship with Starbuck’s Towing, donating your car to MEOW is easy, and more importantly, 100% of the proceeds benefit MEOW.

They will pick up your vehicle (within greater western Washington) and transfer the title. When the vehicle is re-sold 100% of the proceeds is donated to MEOW.

Planned Giving

Will or Trust

Once you have provided for loved ones in your will, would you consider including a gift of money, stock or property to MEOW Cat Rescue? Your gift will be a lasting tribute to your dedication to our mission, while helping to secure MEOW’s long-term future.

There are several ways that you can make a gift through your Will or Trust:

Specific gift: You describe exactly what kind of gift you want to leave to a specific individual or organization and the designated source. If you want to leave a specific dollar amount from a specific source or a particular item (such as a piece of property or a collector’s item), this is the type of bequest you would use.

Example — Ruth states in her will: “I leave my diamond wedding ring to my granddaughter, Emily. I leave my house to my daughter, Stephanie. I leave my car to MEOW Cat Rescue.”

Example Wendy states in her will: “I leave $50,000 to my niece, Kathy. I leave $20,000 to MEOW Cat Rescue.”

Residuary gift: This type of bequest is honored after all other bequests have been made, and all debts, expenses and taxes have been paid.

Example — Julie states in her will: “I give all the rest, residue and remainder of my real and personal estate to MEOW Cat Rescue.”

Contingent gift: This type of bequest is fulfilled if certain conditions are met. For instance, if your primary beneficiary does not survive you, you can indicate your next choice through a contingent bequest.

Example — Stan states in his will: “I give all the rest, residue and remainder of my real and personal estate to my wife, Joyce, if she survives me; if not, then 50 percent in equal shares to my children who survive me and 50 percent to MEOW Cat Rescue.”
