Me and my partner were looking to make a big leap in our lives fresh out of college back in 2021, and we knew the very first thing we wanted to do with that newfound desire, to find some feline friends to share it with!

We both had our preferences for what we wanted in a cat so we were absolutely shocked to find the perfect posting of 2 adorable bonded kittens that fit both of our criteria so well. We, probably a little impulsively, picked them up right on the spot since we saw it as a sign – a decision we haven’t regretted for a single moment! Callie and Marie have been absolute joy to experience life with, even if they get up to mischief sometimes.

Callie is very energetic and occasionally skittish – she loves to stare out window sills, leap high into the air for a feather, and zip about the room at 2am. She doesn’t purr very loudly but she will lick your hand down to the bone if you let her (affectionately, of course)! Her comfort zones are behind the shower curtain or under a stool.

Marie is much more cool-headed and spends much more time lounging about, but when she wants something she won’t let you hear the end of it. The number of important work meetings blocked by Marie leaping in front of the screen to tell me “it’s time to play toys now” is unfathomable. Her favorite pastime is pretending not to be that interested in the wand toy, until you run into the other room with it, then she will chase you to the ends of the earth to get that feather.

We couldn’t be happier to have found these lovely girls and we can’t wait to see the places we’ll go together next!

My name is Sierra, and a year ago today I adopted my sweet baby Ace from your shelter. I simultaneously can’t believe it’s been a full year, and that I’ve only had Ace in my life for a year.

Like a truly insufferable pet parent, I made a little collage commemorating the last year together and wanted to share his progress and cuteness with you all.

Hello!

It’s been just over a year since we adopted Mr. David Bowie from MEOW. While we kept his name (we’re big fans!) he has acquired a number of nicknames around the house (Bowseph, Bowie Bear, Mr. Bear, Bowst, Toast, etc).

There were so many happy tears when we adopted this little gentleman, and while he was expectedly a little slow to warm up, he is a treasured presence in our home. Now he walks around like he owns the place (until he hears an unexpected sound and zooms under the chair).

Bowie loves to watch TV with us and was riveted by last season’s Love is Blind. He’s currently working his way through Gilmore Girls. He gets all the attention and brushings and tummy rubs he can handle. He is spoiled with a constant stream of new toys from his grandpa.

He gets to chase our other cat, Chalupa around and she chases him too (when she’s not being jealous of him). We love our Bowie boy and are grateful we are able to be his forever home. It feels like he’s always been here.

Renamed, of course 😊 – I adopted Galileo and Kepler in November of 2023 (their shelter names were Elvis and Priscilla), and they are thriving and living their best cat lives!

They were both fraidy cats, of course, and it took them a good 8 months or so to really get comfortable and learn to trust. Kepler, perhaps even a little longer. But now they have the run of the house (inside only, of course), and are the most playful and well-behaved cats ever.

They share everything, from toys to beds to cat trees and even their food. I swear, a can of wet food tends to go half-and-half, and if only one of them eats at a time, they always eat about half and leave half for the other. It’s surreal!

With the occasional exception, they both like to sleep on my feet or between my ankles on top of the bed (they’re not so much into exploring under the comforter), and they’ll tend to nap in whatever room I happen to be in. During the day, for the most part, they love to sit on the front window sill and judge the neighborhood.

Adopting them was one of the best ideas ever.

I was there a few weekends ago and left with Dinah, who we have renamed to Ruth Bader Ginspurr.

She is thriving. She loves posing for photos and climbing on all the structures we’ve installed for her. She is so playful and talkative and sassy. It’s been so much fun getting to know her big personality. She already runs our house.

I just wanted to send a message thanking you again for all that you do. We couldn’t be happier to have found this little old lady.

Hi, it’s Cate! Just wanted to send an update on Eliza (who was Gigi at the Meow rescue)!

She is so much fun, so loves to talk to me and play with wand toys. She loves climbing around the cat tree, and is really enjoying the birds coming out as we move into spring. She loves having her tummy pet, and has started cuddling in bed with me too.

She is just a perfect lady, and I’m so happy you all helped connect us to her!

Hi all!

This is Opal’s mama, Jane, providing some overdue updates on our beautiful girl Opal. We adopted Opal from MEOW back in April of 2022, and the past 2 1/2 years with her have been some of the best.

When we first brought Opal into our home, she was extremely anxious and weary of us. Coming from a large colony and not a home, we knew we had to be very patient and build our trust with her over time. She didn’t come out of hiding for a month!

But surely enough, she has grown into the most affectionate, loving, and hilarious cat. She is full of personality and isn’t afraid to show it (also not afraid to tell us when she’s hungry)! She loves her play time (specifically with rat toys and balls), and always has so much energy.

Our love for her has just grown exponentially every minute that we spend with her. When we are home, she does not want to leave our side 🙂. Not to mention, her beautiful eyes are a show stopper. She is just purrrfect!

We are so grateful to the MEOW Team and for everything that they do. We cannot recommend them enough if you are looking to adopt in the Greater Seattle Area.

Hi All!

This is Hunter and Riley giving you some updates on the adorable Zoltan (who we have renamed Bigz). We named Bigz after the Sonic character, Big the Cat, and added the Z as a homage to his shelter name!

Bigz is still the sweetest boy! He might have been more relaxed at MEOW but he has become the most spunky little guy. He loves playing with toys (especially his pink ball) and is an absolute foodie. His favorite time of day is meal time which I’m sure is no surprise. He loves to sleep right next to his parents faces (almost suffocating them sometimes 😂) and get lots of cuddle time.

We’re so thankful that we found Bigz and were able to give him a home that has brought out so much personality!

Hi MEOW!

I am so happy I adopted Puma. When I came to the shelter it was hard to tell her exact personality, but you could easily tell she was a fellow introvert like me. Our personalities match perfectly.

We snuggle all the time and I’m so happy I could provide her with a good comfortable life, she deserves it. She loves her salmon and tuna dinners and is constantly purring with every bit of affection.

She is my first kitty and I couldn’t have asked for a better cat. I’m savoring all my time with her as she really is the perfect cat.

She had a couple of injuries from her past life, but she had healed so well at MEOW; now all she needs is checkups!

You can tell she is such a strong and independent cat but will still always be a teddy bear at heart. Thank you to the staff at MEOW for introducing me to my bestie Puma (Especially Faith, you’re the best.)
