Committed to Comprehensive Care
Felix

At MEOW, we’re proud of our lifetime commitment to the cats in our care. Core in all that we do is our motto ‘all nine lives are precious.’ This is particularly evident within our Ninth Life Foster program.

Whether the return of an old friend or a newcomer in desperate need of help, our Ninth Life Foster program extends a hand to cats who have little hope of adoption and says, ‘you’re welcome here and we’re here for you.’

Cats with significant health issues or of advanced age are placed into long-term foster homes where they’re cherished and cared for as long as they have left with us, whether days, months or years. During this time, MEOW provides everything, all medicine, veterinary and supportive care needed. They are loved as a family member.

Felix had been lovingly adopted as a kitten. Now, 12 years later, life had taken a turn, and we were right here to welcome our friend once again. A sweet, grey tabby boy, Felix was struggling with a urinary incontinence issue that had been causing him discomfort and to drip continuously. His family had done their best to address the issue but could no longer support the associated veterinary costs.

Over the several months Felix has been back with us, he’s been enjoying the love and care of his foster home as we work together to ensure his physical comfort. Veterinary investigations, dental extractions, the finetuning of his diet, and medication trials are all ongoing, but most often he can be found having purring marathons on his foster mom’s lap.

We hope to find the key to Felix’s recovery, but regardless, he’ll have a loving home and a lap to snooze on for as long as he needs us.
