As we head into the evening hours, we couldn’t be more thrilled with our results so far. As of 7 PM our supporters have stepped up once again and raised $37,500. These funds will allow us to be ready to support some amazing community members who are often on their own in the world of rescue.
Supporting Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR)

MEOW has close relationships with several amazing, compassionate and dedicated souls who spend their days and often nights, as well as their own money, doing Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR).
Sometimes instead of being returned, the cats and kittens need to be removed, rehomed, and they are in desperate need of a soft place to land. We are here for the next step in their rescue, offering the medical and behavioral attention they will need to become ready for better lives.
This was the case for Ryker, Borgen and Yanni. Trapped at a house suspected of being involved in illegal drug activity, they were absolutely emaciated.
Upon arrival at their MEOW foster home, they were unsocial and so sick and weak that they were not eating on their own. Two of the three were dangerously anemic, requiring iron injections. They were also positive for Giardia, causing diarrhea and inappetence.
For the first few weeks, the foster parents syringe-fed them small amounts of food throughout the days and nights. After multiple series of medication, they finally overcame each challenge. Now healthy and social, they are ready for their forever homes.
Those kind souls who are so committed to saving lives through TNR often come across some very unsavory situations and, more often than not, the cats and kittens they find in those places are teetering on the brink.
We feel so fortunate that we are able to be there for our partners who devote themselves to the daunting task of TNR and for the kitties whose lives are saved as a result of their tireless work.
